Hello

Does anyone know where the term 110% commitment comes from or is it just a random number over 100% thrown in.

Its a phrase used for describing "going the extra mile" or "above and beyond what is expected". I don't believe it is meant to be taken literally. :p

Although I'm sure many people on these forums will point out the apparent catastrophe in perceived logic that this phrase carries.

Good, now explain where the "mile" in "going the extra mile" comes from.

You know, you just gotta get out there and give 110% percent, and you know, you hope you win...

Hypnotist: You are all very good players
Team: We are all very good players
Hypnotist: You will beat Shelbyville!
Team: We will beat Shelbyville!
Hypnotist: You will give one hundred and ten percent
Team: That's impossible, no one can give more than one hundred percent, by definition that is the most anyone can give.

Well there are 3 kinds of people in this world. Ones who can count, and ones who can't.

Depends which one you are.
