WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO TO MY THREAD WHILE I WAS ASLEEP!?

But seriously, I just don't see an 11 year old being rehabilitated from this. You have to reach pretty low to do something like this, and I remember ~10 years old is when I kind of..."became who I am". I recall most of my memories from that point and started to identify with groups and stuff. Prior to that I dunno, I really was just a kid. I just don't see someone coming back from this and being a contributing member of society.

Maybe in your case, but kids aren't fully developed brain wise until their late teens early twenties. A stable home and routines are extremely important for children. I'd be surprised if this child came from a stable home. It really depends on the case, which we can't evaluate without being around the child firsthand. I'd hope they have good child psychologists treat the child and determine if rehabilitation could work. I'm not saying the child can be rehabilitated, I'm saying it isn't out of the question.

I know I did idiotic stuff when I was 15-16 that I would never imagine doing now. It wasn't as far as murder or anything, but I'm a totally different person than I was then.

Right, and I'm sure everyone did a bunch of stupid crap at that age they aren't proud of.

I was getting more at: before the age of 10 I really was 'just an innocent kid', I had no identity outside of mom/dad/brother/sister/friends. I was just living life without thought about anything. Post 10 however, is when (I think) you start to see people making identities for themselves. They begin to gravitate towards lifestyles/peoples that share the same interests, they start to act in ways to express themselves etc.

I'm no child psych, but, I dunno, I'm not seeing it. And there is still the glaring fact that she had the cops called on her at school regardless of it being non violent. WTF? I was detained once in high school at like age 17 for disorderly conduct, and I was a bit of a trouble maker. But I can't imagine a 11 or under getting cops called on them? WTH?

I remember seeing on the news that a kid had the cops called on him at the school and was suspended for having a nail clipper. Like I said, we don't personally know the child, so its hard to say much more.

I have seen an increase is particularly gruesome events take place recently. Its not even just a USA issue, I see the trend of violence spreading across the world.

Imagine a place where you don't even think about strapping on your pistola to leave the house.
A place where you don't need to keep your eye on children in case they decide to get violent.
A place where Bikers are more likely to help you change a tire then rob you for meth money.

I live there

Hmm, this seems like an underhanded pitch if I've ever seen one.

Oh look what I found in the NYT today.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/10/u...in-the-south-documents-nearly-4000-names.html

Man times sure were great back then.

I wasnt talking about the 1800's/early 1900's, but grasp at whatever straws you need to. Also, are you trying to tell me children orchestrated and carried out these lynchings? If not, whats your point exactly?

No shit. I think he is really lucky the mods gave him a free pass on his clear and obvious bullshit smokescreen of a reply.

"Also, my suspicions were confirmed."

"That society is deteriorating to the point where our children are now commiting horrendous acts of violence."

Yeah... his suspicions that the topic title stating "11 Year Old Beats and Kills a 2 Month Old" were confirmed by the body of the story. Indeed...

Nice try Smokes, you make a better window than you do a door...

I think you and rudeboy are just mad that I am not a racist. It doesnt fit your agenda too well, does it? :(

This should go without saying, but you need to take note of the media environment we live in. We are a country of over 300M+ people, and sensational, and rare stories like this are widely disseminated by mass media to capture ratings. Violent crime in this country is at a generational low, yet the media convinces us that there are boogeyman around every corner. I can promise you, sick stuff happened plenty back "in the day" as you put it, it's just that Cronkite wasnt going to take a chunk out of his news hour to report on every one of them, because frankly there's more important shit to report.

Lets see you pull the trigger on an 11 year old.

Its emotion talking. I have a baby boy that I'd do anything to save from a beating like this. I'd jump in a giant blender, feet first, to save my baby. Get it?

I can tell that 11 year old's life was micromanaged so much. No child should be micromanaged and must be given the freedom to explore world around them. Btu no I am not a free range supporter.

I think we'd need to talk about why your baby was in a giant blender to begin with.
