If these 11 people had died from gun violence president obama would be on national TV talking about how we need to pass gun safety laws.

So where is the outrage from so many people drying in car wrecks?

The thing both wrecks have in common, a driver was speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road.

This is what I purpose:

Background checks for everyone who buys a vehicle.

Background checks for everyone who wants to buy gasoline.

Vehicles can only hold 5 people.

Only police need a vehicle that can go over 75 mph.

Strengthen laws on driving on the wrong side of the road.

Something has to be done about this senseless slaughter. If new laws can save one life, then it is worth it.

Slow day on FoxNews?? Nothing was on that channel that could get you outraged, so you decided to get pissed off at something else,... for the purpose of making a fuss over another issue.

Great way of respecting the dead. Take their tragedy and tie it back to your bitching and moaning.

Rather than debate the message you attack the messenger.

Typical liberal response.

Exactly. Both kill about the same number each year but you don't see cars needing to be registered, insured, testing to be able to drive or any of the number of regulations guns have...

We require a legal driver to obtain a license.
We require a test to be granted a driver's license.
We require a car to be registered and that registration to be updated yearly.
Cars require license plates which allow the owner to be easily identified.
Many states require drivers to obtain insurance.
The amount of government required safety features has increased regularly with time for new vehicles.

Cars kill a person when used incorrectly or irresponsibly. Guns kill a person when used as intended. In addition the number of people who operate vehicles and the overall time per year in which a person is using a vehicle is higher than that of people who use firearms.

Most likely, DUI in both cases. Either ban alcohol or simply execute anyone drinking and driving (sarcastic on both but something needs to be done to stop this shit).

My brother died 11 years ago today because he decided to drink, drive and enter the highway on an off ramp. He collided head on with a semi and died one month later from his injuries. Fortunately, he was the only one who died and nobody who was innocently minding their own business.

Fix DUI (and other forms of distracted driving like texting and driving) and you'll end so much of what is reported in the OP.

As for the OP, great way to throw out a lot of bullshit trying to make a bullshit point. OP FAIL.

Intent is not something inherent to an object, but rather to the person using that object. Society as a whole has agreed that killing other people is not allowed, the tool used is irrelevant to the violation of the societal contract.

Should we eliminate DUI laws too, since they didn't stop this from happening?

Yup, I'm up with this OP. Guns should be registered, the operators licensed, and they should illegal to operate in public outside of designated pathways. Also, to increase the likelihood of care being taken in use, it should be mandated that guns be manufactured to kill the operator more often than anyone else, while being held to overall standards for minimal lethality.
