Mine came out to $659 including tax to CA. Oh well, great deal and I can't wait to get it.

I ordered mine about two weeks ago. Got it in 6 business days due to the carrier not delivering on Saturday. This monitor is truly incredible. Short of spending at least $1200 nothing comes close. The screen size is great and the colors are very vibrant. I have played several of my games on it. It is great for games or anything for that matter. It is a super deal if you need a monitor. This is the next level in displays. Mine is absolutely perfect. I'm excited to use my computer again.

Excellent deal - but I'm not liking the ship dates I see. Is Dell being conservative, or is there really that much of a back log?

I was a little dissapointed about my ship date of Nov. 23 as well. Hopefully it will get out a little sooner than that.

I forgot to ask - does it come with a DVI cable?

TIA,

Yes.

Thx for the response. If their reported shipping date is true (23rd for me), it's going to be a tough couple of weeks.

Remember guys, Dell will have a new Wide Screen line with better specs coming out and only I think about $100 more.

Actually, it's already here -- and appears to run (on sale) for about $800.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the WS monitors and given a choice, would gladly take the 2001fp over the 2005fp. I have a TV for watching DVDs and don't see any real benefit to widescreen gaming.

I received an email saying mine would not ship until 11/11 and it actually shipped the next day. Dell will get you your order as soon as they can. With a good video card, Doom3 plays great.

That's good news and what I was expecting would be the case.

What res (if you're not running native) are you using for D3? And what video card?

Using a GF6800GT myself (on a A64 3200+) so I'm hoping that I'll be able to run most things at 16x12.

With a 6800GT, AMD 3500+ and 1gb ram I run Doom3 at 16x12 on a 2001fp, runs nicely :) The only thing is you need to set vsync on or you get some weird tearing on the top 3rd of the screen. Farcry ran beautifully at 16x12 the whole way through on the same system. 2001fp gets a thumbs up here!

I've got the exact same specs as you Chum. Far Cry, Doom 3 and CoD all ran great at 16x12 for me on my CRT.

I'm running 9800Pro with P4 3GHz. 1GB PC3500 Ram. 1600x1200 with 4AA enabled and medium (second to highest) detail turned on. 200GB HD with 7200RPM. Not the best but pretty good.

Do you mind me asking when you placed your order?

I ordered on the 5th and it gave me a reported ship date of the 23rd. While I understand that it will most likely ship earlier, I'd just like to get an idea about just how much earlier I can expect it. Thanks,

Chum

Ordered 10/24, received emailed mentioned above on 10/28, monitor shipped on 10/29 and received on 11/1. I would have received it 10/30 but the carrier does not deliver Dell on Saturday they told me. The delivery driver just left it on the front porch. My wife was home and they never rang the bell or anything.

I ordered one on 10/29, was supposed to ship on or before 11/9. Today I got an email that it would be delayed till 11/23. Cancelled and off to find a Viewsonic vp201 I guess.
