11-30 FPS in CS: condition zero with 8800gs

help, i'm getting anywhere from 11-30 FPS when playing games on steam like counter strike condition zero and CS 1.6. especially on shooting scenes where i fire my gun and i see an enemy my FPS drops to 11 FPS.

here are my specs

graphic card : evga 8800gs


Windows 2002 XP sp2
AMD Athlon 64X2 4600+ 2.40GHz,
ASUS M2A-VM,
2GB RAM DDR2 667Mhz,
250GB Seagate,

im also playing at 1024x768 resolution on a 15" lcd monitor

Try and uninstall and reinstall of the drivers.

You should be at 100 FPS
