Dynamic leveling in rpgs is like regening health in fps. It's a copout to allow level designers to be more lazy about their jobs.

I think Titan Quest: Immortal Throne had the perfect leveling system. When you beat the game you can go back to the beginning and play on expert mode or you can play normal and kick ass if you want. When you beat expert mode you can the start at legendary mode. This makes replaying the game much better.

I have grown to hate dynamic mob leveling such as Oblivion and torchlight Titan Quest got it right.

Diablo II milked the content that way as well.

Triple the use of the content.

lol, it has taken me 4 years to finish the first chapter. No way in hell I'll play through all the game again.

If you pick specialties that you like, you'll wanna play more frequently and finish faster.
Also, I recommend downloading a mod that improves your gameplay like Defiler, which can things to your liking. If you dont wanna grind as much, enable double XP and spend half as much time in pointless battles.

The Vault is good for item management, much better than the caravan found within the game. Even though I have to log out occasionally and run the program and then jump back in to the game, overall it saved me time by not having to track down things multiple times, or be able to give good equipment to the right character. If my Elementalist finds a really good bow it makes more sense to transfer it to my Brigand, or hold in the Vault until I make a Brigand character.

This.

Keep in mind that from ES4 onward Bethesda has been trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator to boost sales. Morrowind may have been a superior game but it damn sure wasnt popular, and corporations are obligated by law to maximize profit for their shareholders.
Thats why I like small indie game companies so much. Less BS and they are more likely to put out the kind of fun I get in to.
