I'm in for ARMA 2. I keep hearing about this game and for $10 it's worth a shot. I looked at it last night but it was $19.99. Glad I waited :).

The PMC one is a piece of shit. I got half-way through, and the level won't load. Glad I only spent $5 on it.

The Amra X one pricing makes no sense. It says if you already own Arma II and Arma II: Arrowhead you get 20% off for each one, but the price still shows as $29.99.

That's far more than the little you get if you already own those titles - the original Arma alone is just $2.99.

My initial take is... buggy and a little clunky in the interface, but it does seem like it might be fun if I can learn how to work everything.

The controls are clunky and I felt that the arma 2 campaign was blah, HOWEVER Arrowhead added alot and the mission editor and sandboxing make it worth it. My favorite aspect is building up fortifications and planning attacks, syncronizing air assaults and troop deployments. Once you master the macro programming you can do some pretty amazing stuff. On one mission I had 25 chinooks loaded with troops syncronized to drop troops at various points around an airbase for a massive assault after the attack choppers cleaned up the area. Once unloaded the chinooks took off with apaches in escort and circled the area until the troops took their objectives after which they all landed in line formation on the runway and all the troops took defensive points.

It took alot of time but it was cool, especially since you get to actually join in the fun. I can't wait for Arma 3. I'm sure it will be buggy and have some issues as well, but this series has progressively gotten better and better.

Yeah, I get the sense that it could be really fun. I like the realistic feel and the huge maps and draw distances. Just need to tweak the problems out. Right now I'm having these sound issues which make it unplayable. Basically halfway through a mission it sounds like someone let a bunch of toddlers play with the mixing board while the band was out having lunch.

Hmm, no one is talking about how quickly Rage hit 33% off.

I expect it hitting below $20 for X-Mas. good times.

Got the sound working by disabling 5.1 channel surround, as suggested somewhere on the web. Shame that it doesn't work, but overall the game has a rough indy feel to it, and I can live with it. Played a little tonight and definitely saw some potential. I'd say it was worth $10. Now I just have to remember to change the speaker config. when I play.
