Wow, that CoJ Gunslinger + FC3 Blood Dragon double-pack is very attractive.

Blood Dragon is a hammed-up retro-future FPS romp in the style of an 80's scifi-action film. Gunslinger is similar, but replace the sci-fi theme with a cowboy spaghetti western, and you get the idea.

Haven't played it for myself yet, but I have it on good authority that Gunslinger is the best Call of Juarez game since Bound in Blood (some consider it the best, period). Certainly better than the last one - Cartel - which was an abortion.

Both games are silly, over-the-top first-person shooters that throw all caution and seriousness to the wind, and focus on being pure arcadey fun. $6.25/ea is a solid deal considering both games are relatively new.

CoJ: Gunslinger is a very fun 6-7 hour main story romp. I paid $14.99 at release and was really happy with it. No-brainer at this price.

There are also some competitive high-score modes that I never got around to trying.

I was laughing hard at the tutorial section of Blood Dragon but be warned it uses checkpoint saves and they are placed too far apart. Half-life 1 had real saves so this is retro console punishment nonsense.

The checkpoint for the first mission is basically at the start. I played through the first few areas up to the start of the escort part, saved, quit, reloaded and started gnashing my teeth. Lost progress, grrrr!

Hmm . . . I don't think I'm going to jump on RTW2 at 25% off. Will wait until the fall and holiday sales, give more time for CA to fix the game.

Yeah, I too am hoping that it is featured in one of the two sales at a steeper discount -- which is sort of sad as TW games, going back to Medieval: TW, were Day 1 purchases.

I also won't be picking up Blood Dragon because I dislike I have to install Ubi bloat to play the game I purchased and, more importantly, I hate that there isn't a player-controlled save system. I don't understand why, in 2013, games that encourage player exploration and experimentation won't facilitate experimentation by including a non-checkpoint driven save system. It's slightly exasperating to me as I honestly don't understand why so many titles lack such a feature.

I an not that interested in COJ, but was interested in Blood Dragon. If it has a punishing checkpoint save system, I think I will pass and hope for a really cheap holiday sale. Not being able to save anywhere is one of my pet peeves as well, not to mention a lot of "modern" games dont allow multiple saves so it is impossible to go back to an earlier save after making a new one. One of the few things I did not like about Borderlands 2 was how long some of the missions were, and how far back you got put if you quit out of the game.

If there was a good deal on BD plus FC3, I might give that a try, although I heard FC3 had a lousy ending.

Blood Dragon's crazy fun, but as mentioned already the saved points are ugh! At the start I was sure I had made it past a check point. I played again the next day and was back doing the tutorial again. I had sat thru a cut scene the day before, but it still wasn't far enough to auto save.

To me a cut scene = check point. Game's stupid fun though. Gunslinger's fantastic. I beat it but might play again so I can find all hidden items I missed the 1st go-round.
