Why not? It has a higher viscosity then 2 stroke motor oil. What's the difference?

its too thick... i would gum up vital moving parts and coat the spark gap.
because it doesnt burn off like 2 stroke oil does.

1) Regular engine oil does not readily mix with gasoline.

2) Regular engine oil contains a myriad of additives that will coke your combustion chamber and foul your plugs.

3) It will smoke like a freight train.

4) It is higher viscosity. This is not a good thing. It is not meant to be burned during combustion. The extremely high temperatures seen inside an air-cooled two stroke engine will cause the oil to break down and create deposits, increasing friction and heat, exacerbating the problem.

5) If you want to ruin your weed eater's engine, go for it.
