Question 10th-Gen ITX build

Looking to possibly do a build in a BitFenix Prodigy (white) mini-ITX case (the one that looks like a miniature Mac Pro, with handles). I want to possibly use the white model of that case, but am concerned about how it will look with a black faceplate DVD-RW drive. I believe (Lite-On?) used to sell retail-boxed DVD-RW "kits", that included an optional white or beige faceplate that you could disassemble the front faceplate off of the drive and attach the white/beige one. Does anyone know if they still sell those, and have a link handy? (I once ordered some Lite-On DVD-RW from Newegg, and they came retail-box "kits", much to my surprise.)

32GB kit (red, 2x16GB) of DDR4-3200 from Team Group. Decent value at $90.99, on ShellShocker today @ Newegg. Not sure if I'll bother for 32GB for a primarily web-browser PC, I also already have a 16GB kit which should largely be sufficient. Most people don't have 3000 tabs open (literally) in Firefox like I have sometimes.

I have a computer (beige or off-white) with a black optical drive. Looks fine to me ... nice contrast. I think the light beige cases are considered out of style now. Everything's black.

Larry, I haven't seen a non-black optical drive in a couple of years now since the market for optical drives has shrunk so much. Might find one on ebay, but I bet it would be expensive.

I think a black drive would probably look just fine with that case given it does have black lines on it. If you want, you could even get a 5.25" to laptop optical drive/USB3.0 bay adapter to add a few front panel USB3 ports if your motherboard has an extra onboard header.

I was kind of wondering about that. I was thinking, "Thank GOD for that black line, otherwise the black DVD-RW drive would look SO out of place...".

Edit: This build is on hold for now. I spent the funds on a couple of RX 5600XT cards instead.

Spray can automotive vinyl dye does an excellent job of painting plastic optical drive bezels.

Wash the plastic first with strong, hot detergent solution. Do not sand it, the dye seeps into the plastic unlike paint so it does not fill scratches at all and has no adhesion problem on clean plastic. Do not put on coats as thick as paint, multiple thinner coats. White on black will probably take more coats than some other colors.

EDIT: Nevermind, it has an IDE interface of all things, and an IDE to SATA adapter is a lot of trouble to go to for a white DVD burner. If you want a white one, I think @mindless1 's suggestion above is the absolute way to go.

Ok, this build is a go again. Only, I've kind of cheaped out, and went with a Rosewill micro-ATX case that comes with a 450W (?) PSU, with 2x PCI-E 6+2 connectors, and 3 SATA, and some molex, along with the 24-pin and ATX12V 4+4 pin. ($50 for case + PSU, not a bad deal.)
(You will note that it does NOT have a 5.25" bay opening, for a DVD drive. Oh well...)

It has 4x SATA, with RAID feature, 2x M.2 NVMe PCI-E x4 3.0, AC wifi onboard, and 2.5GbE-T (RealTek). For $109.99 ($10 off right now). Seemed like a decent deal, all things considered. Certainly cheaper than a comparable AMD AM4 micro-ATX or mini-ITX board with the same features.

For a processor, I went with an Intel 10th-Gen Pentium Gold G6400. Dual-core w/HT, 4.0Ghz base clock (no turbo), cheap enough at $64.99 (plus ship, plus tax).

Edit: Not entirely sure that the Intel CPU comes in Retail Box or with a cooler, Newegg's listing just showed a generic chip, no pictures of the actual box. I guess I'll see when it gets here. Might need to order another Gammaxx 400 (Blue LED) cooler for $21.99. (My current choice of tower coolers for Intel CPUs, seems to work as well as an 212 EVO, but cheaper.)
