Anyone with this card...

Have you manually set the blower to 100%?
Full load auto is NOWHERE near this speed.
You could attach a small blade to the wheel and probably cut plywood!
It's freakishly loud but not all that annoying.
Nothing like the 2900XT or 5800 blower for sure.

Fully stressing the card = upper 50°C range of GPU temps vs. lower 80s for auto.
I have a Strix with three fans and it gets scary loud as well with full load temps in the upper 40s. So called silent mode where the fans only come on with load seems to keep the GPU temp around 65°C loaded and is barely audible. Card takes up 2 1/2 slots though. (Yikes!)

I have this card, but I foolishly ripped off that blower and put a water block on it before even testing the card to see if it worked. Crazy, I know. Luckily it works great, but sadly I will never know what its like to hear that blower. Lots of reviews have decibel testing of this card.

Benched my 1080 Ti with stock cooler @100% fan. Personally would have to say sounded no different then stock cooler used on 980 Ti. Allegedly it was different/better, but I definitely didn't notice. Perhaps there is some truth to it when you factor in the die density, but acoustically, sounded the same. Which was loud. Too loud.

I'm fairly sure the default fan curve will ever only spin the fans up to about 50% of max rpm which accounts for the discrepancy.

Much like Bogg I made the grave mistake of slapping a block onto mine without basking in glory of the blower fan at max speed.

I did however totally bask in the glory of 2 980ti's blower noise which was the turning point for a custom loop.

Sadly it has been uber silent ever since...

It's super annoying to me, probably louder at 50% than my two MSI Gaming 970s in SLI at 100%. Never even heard the 970s above my case fans.

Going to be putting the 1080 Ti on water I think. Definitely want to be able to crank the OC to the max without hearing that damn fan. First time I've done FE. Should have waited for an aftermarket cooler version.

I hate mine. I upgraded from an MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 to 4k with this FE 1080 Ti, so the difference in fan noise was night and day. My Gaming X was very quiet even with the fan maxed out and stayed very cool. This FE pegs at 84 degrees on the stock fan curve and bounces clocks all over the place. I know it's "normal" but it really makes my eye twitch. I don't run an overclock at all because it's just so godawful loud. This is the first and last time I buy a blower reference card. I'm either going to return it and get an aftermarket card or toss a Hybrid Kit on it.
