read on here about a codec called CoreAVC that's supposed to be killer for HD video clips. I downloaded a 1080p MP4 clip to test it out, in Gomplayer it starts to stutter badly after about 2 seconds. Tried it in WMP and it played normal for maybe 25 seconds and starts to stutter badly.
system specs
E6500 @ 3.0
2 gigs DDR2-800
8600GS 256 megs
Wondering if true playback of 1080p content is even possible on my box, or am I asking too much? I'm about to go google up some 720p clips to see what happens.
