Yeah I was looking to buy the Bravia XBR2, but then I noticed there's an XBR3, and Sony doesn't display 1080p on XBOX 360. So now I'm looking at these:

Sceptre 37" 1080p X37SV-Naga

Westinghouse 42" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV LVM-42W2

Westinghouse 37" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV LVM-37w3 ($999.99 DAMN!)

If you guys can find cheap 1080p panels for me (any brand other than Sony) that would be awesome.

XBR2 > XBR3 anyday.

The only difference between the two is the black bezel and the black remote. I say buy the XBR2 and save yourself some money. If you don't like the XBR2 look, dish out the $300 for the different bezel.

But then Sony is kinda ripoff. The 46 XBR2 has dropped tremendously. I think you can get it on Amazon now for $3000? I bought it for $3800 at BB and that was when they listed it at $4300. I thought OP was looking for something cheap, and so I was surprised to see him mention the XBRs. Anyways, the Westinghouse 37" is a STEAL.

Sam's Club started carrying the 37" Westinghouse for 1000$ about a week after I bought the Sceptre from Costco. The Sceptre has a tuner or something that the Westinghouse doesn't, but I just use it as a computer monitor anyway. Costco would let me return it, of course, but the Sceptre has been working fine, so doesn't seem worth the trouble.

Stay away from Sony, period. One of the guys at the Sony Store tried selling my father-in-law an XBR1 for $2000, while the XBR2 was only $300 more. He said it was a good deal because it USED to be a lot more.

He ended up with a Sharp 37D90U, he absolutely loves it. Dual HDMI, full 1080P on both inputs, DVI, component and S-Video, great sound, lots of different options, ATSC tuner built-in, whatever you want. Still a little pricey compared to other models on the market, but looking at about 10 units all 36" and side-by-side playing the same HD source video, it looked the best out of all of them by a long shot.

Why do you want 1080p so bad? This Samsung 40" looks better then their 1080p counterpart, the 4095, and is cheaper as well. Unless you're hooking up to a PC, there's no real reason to get 1080p.

I'm getting a PS3 soon, and my XBOX 360 is on it's way. When I get 360, I'm gonna buy HD DVD player. Yes I know people, I don't really care much for "format-wars" or "fanboy" type stuff.

PS3= Blu-Ray, games

360= All my friends have it, games

That's just how I do :p

------
One of my friends told me Sony doesn't display 1080p on 360, because umm.. Microsoft (360) and Sony (PS3) and that bs. Samsung is better than Sony, but the TV I want at Best Buy is twice as expensive as i I were to buy it online (the LNS-4095DX/XAA). I don't really care for sizes, as long as it's bigger than my 5 year old 27" CRT. My friend has a 37" and it seems good enough for me, but of course if I could get a 40-46" inch for the price of a "good" 37" TV, then I would definitely get that. I'm gonna hang this puppy on a wall mount to the right of my computer, so that I can just look to the right and ta-da, there's my puppy!

Just a suggestion... you get way more tv for your dollar with DLP. You can't hang it on a wall (or maybe you can if you get adventurous) but it's great quality and no burn in issues.

Amazon has had some amazing deals on Samsung HLS- 50" - 61" 1080p DLPs.

I've had my 50" for months and am happy with it.
