1080P HDMI cable? 80-120$?

There are numerous reasons someone may want a toslink cable (or 2). I just switched from hdmi to component for my cable box because I bought a new device and needed to free up an hdmi port. Gonna get a toslink cable soon. And the price was $10 this morning. Not bad considering 4 cables for $10 shipped. Monoprice has very good prices on cables, etc. but getting all 4 of the same cables offered would have been more than $10 after shipping.

why on earth would you need optical if you have hdmi? I didn't see a price either.

hurry, monoprice has put this cable on sale

6 ft hdmi cable for 2 bux a pop. Limit 4 per person.

Interesting test from Audioholics, including some of the most popular cables like the BlueJeanCable Series 1, MonoPrice (not sure which model, probably the 24awg), and a bunch of Monster Cable:

Holy shit - someone else who has actually seen that article! I spend a good bit of time countering 'any cable will work for any distance' myths with that article.

They also had a good one about dispelling the 'digital just works' myth

10 bux is not a bad price for 2 hdmi and 2 optical. I always have spare cables. I even have a roll of rg-6 (and rca connectors) to make interconnects if I need a few more.

why not get an hdmi switch?

That's a great price for the HDMI cables. At this time, I don't need to order any. The Panasonic blu-ray player I bought at Costco came with one and the Dish Network installer who set up the HD service gave me one...

However, for the buy.com ad...Total Price: $10.99 "

Factoring in free shipping, it ain't a bad deal...especially if your audio system needs the optical cable.

the buy.com deal was decent, no wonder it sold out. I say you order the 4 2 dollar cables from monoprice. You should always have spare cables.

I have 4 component , 4 optical, 2 s-video, 2 hdmi and like 10 rca cables sitting around.

I ordered the 4 6' hdmi cable (plus some other cables) from monoprice 🙂
