I just started to play games on my U2711 and it turn out even my rig can't handle 1440p so I turned it down to 1080p and then my screen is blurred out like it had Vaseline smeared all over it.

Is there a way to get around this. It look worst than my old 1050p monitor D:

Your 1440p will give some good results. YOu wanna overclock the monitor then go to nvpanel. gl

For some reason GPU scaling looks absolutely terrible. If your display has its own scaler, try using that instead. Some games try to override it but at least Nvidia has a "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs" setting in the "Adjust desktop size and position" tab of their control panel.

I regularly game at 1080p on my Dell 3008WFP and if using the display's own scaler the reduction in image quality is not all that terrible. I usually don't use much antialiasing at that res because the image is already smoothed a bit.

I don't have 1440 monitor but I do run my Dell 1600x1200 at 1280x1024 with scaling set to display and it's sharp .
I guess you need good monitor for scaling to work good with display or you end up using GPU with blurry outcome .

your vision must be poor as you dont even notice the distortion of running a 5:4 res on your 4:3 screen.

I didn't realize I was in 5:4 ( I just picked closest highest res to 1600x1200 ) but I just tried both and honestly don't notice much difference , both look sharp with text .
I will leave it at 1280x960 .

BTW , my eys are 56 yrs old so yeh, I guess not best like they were in my 20-30's .
