So anyway, I notice that 1080i looks a lot sharper on the XMB than 720p. My TV is 720p/1080i only (native res is 1360x768). And I don't really notice any flickering with 1080i.
But is 1080i supposed to be sharper? I mean, it's a lot sharper and nicer looking in the XMB. In games like GTA4, it's completely unnoticeable (as it's supposed to be).
atm I have it set on 720p for smoother gameplay. Fact is I can't tell a difference between the two in gaming, and I doubt anyone else can either.
So the question: is 1080i supposed to be sharper than 720p? It's more pixels... but it's also interlaced and also downscaled by the TV to fit the 1360x768 native res.
