1080p is marketing hype.
1. You get 2 million pixels either way.
2. Film frame rates are still 24 frames and most movies look better with a slower frame rate and not video glaring bright.
3. 60 progressive frames is great for live sporting events.
4. LCD, Plasma, DLP are natural progressive displays and the input is converted to fit it's display since some don't have 2 million pixels or aren't 16:9.
5. CRT's are the only technology that will display interlacing.
6. The max bitrate of 19.8mbps is to low.
7. 1080p50 and 1080p60 are NOT American HDTV broadcast standards only 1080p24, 1080p30, 1080i60.
