1070 MSI Gaming X vs Armor OC

Hello gents,

I'm in the market for a new gpu and looking at different options. I'm trying to figure out what the difference between the 1070 MSI Gaming X and Armor OC versions is: as far as I can figure out some clock differences (should be able to bring to even with a manual oc), the shape of the cooler (but still the same twin torx dispersion fans), and no LEDs on the armour card (no big issue).

The price difference is about 40$.

Links for MSI webpage:

Armor:

Gaming X:

Thoughts?

If your only looking at MSI Buy the Armour unless you have a window in your case and you care about the overall look. The gaming X has a nice looking backplate and controllable RGB led's.

However, The extra 6 pin power connector is fairly worthless and the cooling is almost the same to make it negligible, the board is exactly the same so you can OC the armour to gaming X levels no problem.

Source: I have just purchased a MSI Gaming X

Ah yes the non X version is an option but unfortunately around here it's being sold in one place as far as I can see and it seems to be perpetually sold out. I'm keeping an eye on it.

Double post but I realised that amazon sells 1070 for 100$ cheaper than local buy (australia) - including international shipping. Fuck me.... this is ridiculous.
