I am trying to figure out why this CPU is not clocking it self down in idle mode
According to CPUz it always hang around 2.8 I have cool and Quiet enable (Auto)
MB is GA 890GPA UD3H with Bios ver FF
OS is XP SP3 Pro
I have manually Lower the Voltage to 1.28 and it is running ok
I just can't figure out why it is not clocking down. I have look at the Perfomance tab in Tsk MGR it shows 1-2 % CPU usage.....
Now in Win7 Pro 64 Bit with SP1 it clocks down to 800Mhz or 400 Mhz not remembing which one.
Any idea what causing it ?
 
Imposed settings there is a minimum CPU state... try dropping that setting to a lower percentage.
