Heat wave broke Saturday afternoon about 2pm. Winds shifted from out of the North, a few clouds but not a drop of rain. Temp went from 100 to 80 by 3pm, then down to 73 by 9pm and low humidity.

Feels great.

Hope you folks east of us catch a break too.

In the Chicago area we get a break for a few days. Highs are only supposed to be in the low 80's and low humidity. It feels wonderful to be able to turn off the AC and open the windows.

T storm came through last night to drop temps quickly in 70/80 range. Back over 90 today in the Trenton/Philli area today though.

Still going to be close to 100 in middle TN today. To top it off we woke up to no power. Wonderful.

Damn, you all are a bunch of whiny ass pussies.

This. I'll drive around all day with the windows down in 100f weather. 6/26 I posted a pic to my FB of the thermometer in my truck that reads the outside temp - 107f, 3pm. I went back outside to my truck for some reason about an hour later and it said 113f. Corpus Christi, Tx.

^ not this

Heat is serious business for the elderly and the young. While some of you may pretend to be above it it will kill you just the same.

Anecdotally I would say if your so tough go work outside in this heat and come in here and tell us it's no big deal.

Yeah no thanks. I imagine Texas heat is humid like Tennessee heat. It only takes about a minute or so to be soaked in sweat if you hop in a car that's been sitting in the sun and just start riding around with the windows down and no a/c on. Maybe some don't care but I'm not a fan of showing up at work drenched in sweat, showing up at a restaurant or the store dripped in sweat, etc. Plus it's just not comfortable.

This. I find it's the sweating that makes crazy heat unbearable.

it finally broke! pathetic storms came through and now it's 83 degrees. i never thought 83 degrees could feel so cool. after all that heat i was expecting huge thunderstorms, like the earth taking a huge dump that had been backed up in its bowels for a week.
