Well, I just bought 2 Compaq Ultra Wide SCSI 3 18.2 GB drives on FS/FT in hoping to play with some SCSI Raid...

I currently have the 2 drives that use the 80pin connector and 2 converters to convert to the 68pin and molex connector. There are also alot of jumpers on there that I have no clue what they do... The adaptor is "CSC Rev B"


Anyways, I am a complete newbie to SCSI so I wanted to know what kind of SCSI controller I would need to get this raid setup going? How much would this cost me?


Any suggestions/comments? Any input would help. Just keep the terminalogy easy so I can understand.

Hardware RAID requires a SCSI RAID controller, kind of expensive. You can do software RAID on a regular controller. There are lots of sites that go into detail about how SCSI works. One is http://scsi.radified.com
