Whats a ram that will FOR SURE work with this board?
http://usa.asus.com/100/downlo...ducts/1439/1439_10.pdf
It seems anything that is ddr2 800 will work and no 1033 will work at all.
(Also the PDF shows that only the 1GB DDR2-800 sticks will work) So I don't know if I should even try a set of 2gig sticks...
Whats the best ram I can get that will not do this to me?
I am so tired of doing RMA's for parts on this new rig I feel that newegg uses 2nd hand parts... I mean cmon ... a sound card and a bad processor and now this ram issue all in one order..
Driving me mad...
A sound card I can see.... But onward and upward...CPU's are never bad... you stand a better chance of winning the lottery than you do of getting a bad processor. (1.5:1,000,000)
The issues that you are having is not the fault of The Egg.... NVIDIA Chipsets are Famous for this ......that is one of the reasons I don't put them in anything anymore except a Spec'ed AMD rig...
The Memory that I linked above will give you
High Density Micron D9GSV memory that should work like a charm... It is hard to find right now as D9GSV is out of production, and the Fabs are waiting for an equivalent IC from Micron.
You will have to look around a little and you might find this RAM that I speced. It will get you to 4 Gigs on two sticks, and is very clockable.
The Egg had it until last week Friday.
I looked at a few places.. It is Grim right now... the other High density kits are not very promising, as far as performance.
I'll try to get in contact with my friendly Micron Rep.. and find out what the new IC is, and who will be fabbing them...
