damn...why would they sell a barebones system that's suppose to accomodate P4's and yet have it lack such a critical component?

they say that the psu has a Power Factor Corrector? any idea what that is?

even my old p200 has a 200w power supply. It will mess up the power supply if ya try to use it.

well the thing is, i don't know if i can find a another flexatx psu to fit in this case...

i guess the reason i posted was to:

1. see if anyone else is running a P4 in this system or a simliar one

2. if anyone knows of a flexATX psu that'll fit.

what's a peltier? thx.:)

Quite important, but most important are the Amperes the PSU can deliver on 3.3, 5 and 12 Volts...even at the same Wattage the PSUs differ in this values...
I think there is some Formula regarding the dependency between Watt and Ampere...but physics was a long time ago... :eek:

well.. i'm using a 90W powersupply for my Duron-750... it ran like a dream until it had an unfortunate incident with a lightening bolt..

Good article, Lezboy...

And here a reason, why e.g. a 350W Enermax rules, especially on the 3.3 stream which is most important these days:

+ 3,3 Volt 32 A (!)
+ 5 Volt 32 A (!)
+ 12 Volt 17 A
- 5 Volt 1 A
-12 Volt 1 A
+ 5 Volt Vsb 2,2 A

:p

Power (watts) = Current (amps) * Voltage
Power = Current ^2 * Resistance (ohms)
Power = Voltage ^2 / Resistance
Voltage = Current * Resistance

Umm never expected to have to explain what a peltier is. Basically its a patch like thing (sorry can't think of a better term) which has wires coming out of it when you plug it in one side gets cold and the other gets hot. Careful though if you don't puta heatsink on the hot side it will burn up in seconds. Using peliters you can cool your system more then with air or watercooling alone.

well, it turns out the psu is 170w max and it's supply the 3v 5.5v and 12v plentifully....it's also got a 1.55 Vcore and the p4 is running smoothly.

Well let me know if it works. I never seend a p4 running on such a low wattage power supply. Yes wattage isn't everything, but its still odd to see a high quality 100W doing what a low quality ps with more wattage could not do.
