From the sign I saw at the store, I think this sale is only good today and tomorrow (Friday 11/19 and saturday 11/20).

...And of course, you can try to make a HOT deal *in store* by trying to use the B1G1 coupon from this week's Circuit City ad.
It seems like the best bet is asking for a price match, but it's a big YMMV on it. different stores/different managers/different cashiers give you different results -- some consider it a price match, some just say "H*ll, no, we don't take Circuit City coupons. Read the shirt -- does it say Circuit City?"
See this thread for discussion about the 50packs and which ones are Taiyo Yudens.

I was about to swing by after work and pick up an additional couple 50 packs of the TY.
Are there any "made in Japan" in the 100ct size?
If I don't here anything, I'll check it out in-store and report back.

I dunno, I would guess it was shipping damage somewhere along the pipeline between Japan and the store shelf.. not a huge deal, it happens, and they replaced them. The replacement +Rs are working out beautifully in my ND1300A now.

Just got back from BB.

Went to the service desk and got 2 100pk dvd+r for 34.99 using b1g1f coupon
These were the 8x ones made in Japan. They rang up same price as the taiwan 4x sitting right nest to them.
All they had in dvd-r was the ones made in Taiwan so I passed on those.

Figured while I was there ,I went ahead and got the Cyberhome dvd player pricematched to website @ 24.99 and also the 10.00 rebate printed out.So hopefully that'll be $15.00 AR if the rebate goes through.

oh, yeah, when I was picking up the 50-spindles last week, I noticed some "100-pack" units, that were two 50-pack spindles shrink-wrapped together into one unit, with one price. I didn't take a good look at them though, to see if they were MIJ or not, but it sounds possible, as all of the 50-pack 8x +R spindles at my store were MIJ.

The B1G1F coupon is officially dead. I've tried it at stores from which I was able to use the coupon a day ago and they turned it down. They said corporate specifically instructed them to not accept this coupon.

Still, at $35 for 100, it's a good deal especially for the japan-made media.

Chula Vista (San Diego) had only made in Taiwan packs but Mission Valley had both Taiwan and Japan packs. As mentioned above the case of the Japan discs is a bit more sturdy; the shrink wrapping of the Taiwan packs don't seem to be very well done. Also, the link to the picture of the taiwan pack posted by dc are the "-" discs (which are not on sale afaik). The "+" from Taiwan are labeled 4x (as previously mentioned) but they have the same bar code number. dumpav, no there are no ribs on the bottom but the difference between them are very obvious.
I picked up two made in Japan packs, thanks OP.

also, it should be noted that the taiwan discs are suppose to be ricohjpn discs, which is also very high quality media. infact some people report their burners working better with these then the taiyo yudens.

Also look through the top of the box on the dvd themselves. Its clearly printed on the dvd Made in Japan or Made in Taiwan. Tried to do the deal at another BB today and got shot down.

Web order limits 1 spindle. Anyway was going by BB so hauled webpage printout of $34.99 and was shotdown but not out(usual bullshizz about BB and BB.com being separate..puhleasse:() went over to OD, made smalltalk with very cute cashier and placed a weborder for instore p'up(before left BB bought the 1 100pk Fuji TY02s tho ;) for regular price ) printed out order at OD (bought x220 set for $24.9x to keep grumpy OD csr manager happy  ) went back to BB csr gave the old runaround about BB and BB.com not same(why do they spout this sh!t if you can buy on bb.com for in-store p'up ) beat on the BB gm and ..funny..my revised receipt says pricematch with credit back to cc. Web order now says "Apologies due to insufficient in-store stock..would you like order fulfilled with free shipping?" says I have 8 days then its auto-canceled. hmmm....

I'm surprised anyone got the CC coupon to work at BB, when I checked the CC website they didn't even list FUJI as one of the brands they sell.

I haven't opened up my 50pk yet to check the condition, waiting to see of something better goes on sale on BF. One thing I noticed is the TY 50pk didn't have the little spacer at the top of the spindle that keeps the discs from shifting around alot during shipping. That could be why some people reported damaged discs.

I've gotten the same garbage from BB, OM, and Staples. Funny how you can order the same items, with the same SKU, for pickup at a store, or return the items at a B&M store, and even look up the B&M weekly sales flyers on their web site - but yet, "they aren't the same company". Riiiight. The similarity of the corporate "trade dress" as applied to both the web site and the store are simply coincedental. Riiiight.

They may report their internal financial performance differently, and may have slightly different sales (IF they are marked specifically, special price only valid 'in-store' or 'online'), but that doesn't make them "not the same store", from the customer's perspective, and IMHO, is simple flat-out fraudulent misrepresentation. I honestly hope the FTC cracks down bigtime on that practice, which is usually used as an easy-out excuse for not complying with advertised prices for goods offered for sale.

And yet - BB (B&M) was forced to print out the PM policy info for me, when I asked, off of their web site, because they had nothing in writing to give to a customer. Yet they claim that they aren't the same company, and steadfastly refuse to PM even their own online "unit". Go figure.
