1000hp Mistu Evo VIII -- Possible?

My friend claims that his cousin modified an Evo VIII and brought the overall power on the thing to 1000hp. I, personally, think he is full of sh!t. I've never heard of any Evo VIII breaking even 800hp, which makes me a bit skeptical. I just wanted to know if getting an Evo VIII to 1000hp was even possible?

Yes I think it's possible

pretty much anything is possible, just depends what he did to it... If he has a totally rebuilt engine, running a huge turbo with lots of boost, i don't see why not

No yardstick for reliability, obviously. Sure, you made 1000hp on that dyno pull ... but then the car blew up and all you have left is the bragging rights. 😀

Some concerns:
#1: Is it streetable?
#2: Is it street legal?
#3: Is it reliable at all?
#4: Got a dyno chart?

Even Hotrod TV found out that butt-numbers lie. They thought they had a 380 RWHP engine, got it on the dyno, 290HP.

Well the car blew up....later. It got stolen and the guy who was driving it didn't know how to run a stick shift, fvcked the thing up on the highway and smoked the engine...

So in other words, your friend and his cousin have no proof, no car, and are 100% FOS. 😀

*insert random link of cars having nitrous pops on a dyno*

Sure it's possible with enough money. The end result will be very little left of the original Evo except the body.

As for your friends claim, it is 110% bullsh!t until he provides a dyno printout to prove it.

That's like with three type-r stickers and a huge spoiler, right?

Yup, there are 1000hp civics too.
But the engine has been completely rebuilt, so it means very little.
