$1000 to invest .... where to?

Hi all,

I've got a $1000 to invest. Personal debt aside, I'm looking at IDIOX (its an ING Direct Mutual Fund) or HET (Harrahs Entertainment Group). I'm looking for long term growth.

Ideas? Comments? Suggestions? 🙂

Thanks!

-Matt

I dumped $3000 in I Bond. to learn more about it, simply go to fatwallet - finance and search for i bond.

also do your hw well.

i have a n00bie question...

how safe is investing in an ing mutual fund? i knwo their orange savings is FDIC, but what about their mutual funds?

is there any possibility of ing going under and me losing all my money? would it be safe to move about 20-30K into some of these?

btw, i'm not talking about the fund tanking, but specifically ing as an entity going under

I've been following the stock for about a year now, and it looks to be fairly stable. I'm predicting it will hit about $40 sometime January-February. I'm no expert, though, so this is just my opinion.

What about HET? Also, what are your predictions for a year from now?

Hmm, HET looks ok for short term growth for several months, but a year from now I'm not too sure. I would have to do more research on them. Have any particular reason for investing in that stock?

Invest in a car, you won't regret it 😉
j/k j/k

Good question.

Invest in a bike? ha. Have one... but its out of tune.

HET is Harrahs entertainment ... right around the corner from me (I live outside of Atlantic City). Just pulled it out of thin air really.... and I saw that it had dropped and was probably going to go back up again.............

What about IDIOX? Yours also seems interesting (the gas company)

long term growth on $1000? whats ur risk tolarance level and financial knowledge? i highly suggest u don't throw your money into stock market base on someone recommandation on ATOT. If you do insist on HET, give Jim Cramer a call
