Your going to think I am crazy but opening 1000 tabs even with Tree Style Tabs in Firefox is not a good idea. Unless maybe you have a super computer. Even then what is the point ? Just for fun or to test

I got up to 500 something tabs before I had problems which I still thought was impressive but I only have 32 GB of ram. Thankfully Firefox was only using 10 to 15 GB of it.

Bet there is a way to open 1000 but like I said with a super computer.

Remember this is normal websites but some have heavy javascript but I didn't allow it to run on all of them sense I have NoScript too of course.

I wonder if any browser can easily handle 1000s of tabs with flying colors or without a sweat.

Somewhere I have a screenshot of a Firefox close-tab confimation dialog with 3000+ tabs open.

Ryzen R5 3600, 32GB DDR4-3600, RX 5700 GPU. No sweat. :)

Funny you mention 1,000 tabs. I gave my wife a minor panic attack tonight showing her my Safari open tabs on my phone...I learned that the iPhone browser maxes out at 500 open pages, plus another 500 in incognito mode, and was like hey check this out, caps out at 1,000! The look on her face was priceless :D

I don't like closing them because I use it as a visual history that I can flip through like cards for things like recipes, electronic projects, etc. It has a really nice floating-cards type of interface that makes it easy to scroll up & down your timeline!

So that is how you are coping with losing your Rolodex.

Weren't you the dude that created a huge thread about how you got hired by Google about a decades ago? Then you got called out and ghosted?

Ask for repentance after all these years, you filthy liar.

There once were ads on TV for a recipe Rolodex subscription service. Each month the company would send a new set of recipe cards to add to the deck. It’s what I thought of when I saw the picture.

Y'all crazy. I think the highest number of tabs I've ever had open is around ten or so. They have these fancy things called "bookmarks."

It seems like it would be difficult to find the tab you're looking for with 1,000 of them open.
