$1000 set-up

im looking to build a sub $1000 system for apps and some games without a monitor. what is the ideal set up for this range? ive been away from computers for some time so i have no IDEA whats in..

I don't think Conroe will be out in volumes for a while and new price cuts from AMD won't take effect until late August, I believe. Just keep that in mind because some cannot wait that long.

Will Opterons get cheaper too?

I believe so, I think AMD will do a complete lowering of all their products during that time, so the opterons should go down.
