What exactly will you be doing with your computer, so that we can help you customize it to your needs?

Getting rid of that rig for $1000 was quite a steal on your end, congrats.

I play games. Do lots of file transferring, usinf ftp, winrar, smartpar. I also run lots of stuff at the same time.
Hope this helps.

I mean $1000 for that rig was pretty good. Why not get a better one. I was gonna upgrade the case anyway and put in a new graphix card and dvd burner but guess its an overhail.

I burn alot.

I want something that is future proof and can be upgraded. I mean the only reason i dont like my system is rdram is so expensive. I have 256 but for game no a days, it too little and it expensive plus my mb is only agp4x. Also my ps is too little and there are no drive bays left

I would actually get an ATI Radeon 8500 128mb video card - they can be had on these forums for about $130.

And if you do a lot of burning, Plextor is coming out with their DVD-RW

Plextor

I see a few problems with that computer that are definitely worth bringing up
> WHY is it an Athlon MP? If I'm not mistaken, the A7V8X isn't even a multiprocessor board, so there's no reason for it.
> The Xtasy GeForce4 Ti is made by the now defunct Visiontek, and if you have any problems with it you'd be hard pressed to get support.
> This one's kind of personal preference, but I wouldn't like the Samsung 950B, if I was buying a CRT right now I would want it to be flat, but that's just me ;)

Now, what I would do:
Athlon XP 2100+ (Thoroughbred-B) for $93
Any nForce 2 motherboard with the MCP-T southbridge, but not the integrated graphics -- around $110
512M PC2700 (3200 if you want to spend the extra cash) ~~ $85
Any GF4 Ti4200 that's NOT visiontek -- probably $120? OR Radeon 9500 PRO -- $165
Any Hard drive you want depending on how much space you use (BB has the 120GB maxtor on sale this weekend for like $85 if you check out the hot deals forum.
I don't think Lian-Li's are worth it for the price, but cases are a personal thing, I usually just get whatever is cheap
No Need for sound card, nforce2 has good built-in sound
No Need for network card, same reason

If you add in costs for a monitor, then you will probably be a little over that 700 dollar mark, but putting it together is all the fun!

Good luck
