If anything, I would maybe downgrade that GPU to an RTX 2060 or 1680, or regular 5700 or something, because those are all being refreshed soon and you might want to replace those sooner....or better, just up the budget and spend ~$450 on a RTX 2070 Super and get more life out of it?

These prices are very current, though. Shouldn't indicate long term reliability.

I would look at a Ryzen build. AMD stuff is a bit more cheaper I find, though it's been a while since I've priced out a build.

Only thing, you need a dedicated GPU with most AMD chips so that adds to the cost, but some of them do have video. Just need to check for that when picking one.

Trying to keep price down. Once you get into 8 core you're paying more than $200 for it. Though I did not spend much time, so it would maybe be possible to squeeze one in and keep it below 1k.

I was past the $300 range and did not find any 8 cores.

That's just that site though. I did not check Canada Computers. We only have like 2 places to order from now since we lost Tigerdirect and NCIX. Those two used to have a wider selection.

I sometimes consider getting an Ingram Micro account and starting a drop ship service, since we could use more online computer part stores here. Online stores are complicated though, because you need to collect sales taxes for every jurisdiction and file for each one. It's not as bad as the states though where the tax jurisdictions go by county and not by state. I don't know how online stores do it really, you almost need a dedicated team just to handle that.

3700X is C$409. 3600 is C$270. 2700X is C$390 on amazon.ca
My 3700X build was sourced from US... Other than the case.
