As the title suggests, a friend has asked me to help build him a gaming pc to play Battlefront 2 at good FPS with probably a 24" monitor (1080). He will need the whole thing (tower, key/mouse/speakers/monitor)

Is it possible for $1,000 and if so, what do I choose for parts (been out of the game for a while). Also, he doesn't expect crazy FPS..something like 60FPS is fine.

A starting point to look at would be the sticky thread here:

https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...drange-gaming-system-builders.2389797/page-11

In it, ken g6 created a $1000 build here:

You can get a Ryzen 1600, which comes with a CPU cooler and is cheaper than the 1600x. There are quite a few monitors always on sale at places like Newegg, Amazon, B & H, Frys, Micro Center, Best Buy, etc. He'll just have to take a look and see which one looks good to him.

Anandtech used to have system builder guides twice a year. But that was back in the good old days. I cant recall the last time I saw one.

If you spend the full $1,000 on hardware, you don't have any budget left for unlocks.
