What Kind of computer can I build for 1000.00? I want best bang for buck but with quality parts. I will retain 1.5 gigs xms memory from my old computer. So basically I?m building this next machine around 1.5 gigs of corsair. I play BF2 and CSS and I?m loyal to Nvidia?.Discuss
 
all you need is a new video card if you want the latest and greatest games. since it's gaming only, it seems like you dont really need dual-core. unless dual-core is a must for you, it's not worth getting a new build.
 
Well I was thinking of just going with the 3700+ single core for 200.00 that has the 1mb cache. I really only game so maybe that will hold me over.

I would of been fine with my current setup after a 6800gs or 7800gs purchase, I'm just seizing this opportunity and go with a pci-e build because it's so cheap to do so.
 
keep your current stuff and get a 7800gt with a new m/b, spend the $400 and be done with it.
