OK my 8800GT card i purchased 2 years ago is dead.
I have ~$100 to spend.
I have an Abit IP35 PRO with E8400 processor and 4 gigs of ram running Win 7 64,

I play modest games such as WoW, Counter-Strike:Source...

Should i be looking at a card like 9800GT or some of the 204/260/270 lines?

In other words should i be looking for an older "top of the line" card or a newer "mid range" card.

Any links would be greatly appreciated. Looking at these 3

Well, I can't get your links to work, so I don't know which specific 4850 that is, or its exact price. But, out of those three and having ~$100 I would have to recommend a 4850.
