$100 for Opening Chase Free Checking Account

Here are the details of the offer:

Print this coupon and take it to your local Chase branch. Do not mail. Offer valid from 06/01/07 through 08/31/07. Chase Free Checking requires a $100 minimum opening deposit of new money (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates) to qualify for the bonus. Chase Free Checking has no monthly service fee when you have a monthly direct deposit. Limit one personal checking account-related reward / premium per customer, per calendar year. Offer not available on account conversions or in combination with any other offer. Bonus will be automatically deposited into your new account within 10 business days of account opening, but not considered part of the minimum opening deposit. Checking account must remain open for six months or the reward will be debited from the account at closing. Account is subject to approval. Bonus is considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT.

Note that Chase counts Paypal funds transfers as a direct deposit. So, in lieu of a paycheck direct deposit or something like that, you can just push money from a Paypal account once a month to avoid the Chase $6 monthly service fee. Alternately, you can open a 'Better Banking Checking' account which requires a $1,500 minimum daily balance to avoid the monthly service fee of $10 per month.

From the Board Monitor:
I previously edited out the referral ID in your link, and warned you in bold writing that no referral links are allowed. You, then edited my post, took out my warning and put your referral ID back in. You now get a 1 week vacation for that move.

Daggerr in reply to the Board Monitor:
I'm really disappointed by what happened here. As you can read below in the thread, by removing the "ID=" part of the URL, you've broken the link so that it doesn't generate a coupon code. I replied to your email before I fixed the link explaining to you that it was not a referral link and that I was going to fix it.

So as not to incur your wrath again, I will leave the link broken.

For those of you who would like a link that works, you can find a similar thread over at fatwallet forums (fatwallet.com). The link over there works. For your convenience, here's a link directly to that FWF thread:

Interesting. I read over their ATM policies, which suck, so I wouldn't want to use this as my actual checking account, but if I can just push $1 to the account once a month from paypal, it may be worthwhile to signup to get the $100.

Sorry about that. The link is fixed now. The board monitor had edited out that trailing "ID=00007065" part of the URL because they though it was some kind of referral identifier (which I suppose it could be since I don't actually know what it is). However, the page doesn't work without it.

Doesn't work for me either way.

EDIT; Working now. Thanks OP!

OUCH!!! That's a pretty big GOTCHA right there after you sign up. That brings the net gain to only $77 approx. if you are able to avoid the monthly service fee. Who knows if they have some trickery involved to get more money from you once you are signed up and if ther paypal trick doesn't work.

Thanks for the "Head's Up". This deal's gettin' less attractive every day.
