100% CPU Usage?

I was looking around on my computer and I pressed CTRL ALT DEL to go into the task monitor in Windows XP. There was a program called dnetc.exe using 100% of my processor. Does anyone know what this program is? I had nothing running. Can I get rid of this program? It is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Hardware

Thank you
justin

I would assume that's the Dnet client.

Did you at one time install the OGR or RC5-64 distributed computing projects? That's what it is. I'm not sure if Dnet runs any other projects, but it might.

Edit: I guess I've got to type faster.😱

Well, there was a worm that went out and installed the dnetc.exe on your machine, if you had any open shares on your machine and no protection (ie. firewall, NAT, etc.).

It is probably just setup to start as a service. Just go through administration tools to services and see if you can find the service that it is running under.

Good luck!
