First let me tell you my stats:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ @2.1GHz
Diamond Radeon 9200SE PCI
768MB DDR 400MHz RAM
Windows XP Home SP2

When I load up Deus Ex: IW, the intro videos are reallly choppy, and the game is choppy too. I have plenty of memory and a great processor. But, when I'm in the game, and I check my Performance in Task Manager, the CPU usage is at 100%. Is something wrong? I got better performance on a Dell Celeron system with 512MB of RAM and the same video card. Can anyone help me?

your problem is not your computer but because of the fact your playing a crappy game ;) Sorry but this game does not compare to the original and is a pile of garbage.

Deus Ex: Invisible War uses an awful engine, it stuttered and glithed on almost every ststem I've seen it on.

As most others are saying, DX2 is simply an extremely laggy game. Even on a 9800 Pro which was top of the line when DX2 was released, you couldn't play much higher than 1024x768 without horrible lag.

The original DX if you haven't played it. If you have, play it again. You'll enjoy it more than lagging your way through IW. :p

Hey graphics don't make the game. ;)

It adds to immersion, but some games make up for it in other ways, like storyline and gameplay... some games with the best graphics can make you feel less immersed even.

Deus Ex is still a great game, despite it's dated graphics.

yes the original deus ex [thats pronounced dayOO(O sound)ze ex] was a work of art unlike the pile of garbage your playing. The pile of garbage your playing brought even the latest systems to a crawl because of the fact it was so poorly proggrammed

hardly... look at some screen shots of an n64 and tell me they look the same... N64 just didn't have the capacity to store large textures anywhere (cartridge/ram). Also the n64 had fairly low resolution play unlike deus ex.

The original Deus Ex's graphics aren't N64-like, they're more.. hmm, classic UT-like. Makes sense, I guess. Anyway, they're not good by today's standards, but it's pretty easy to get used to them (they're not awful, certainly not so bad that they actually interfere with gameplay), and the game will run smoothly on entry-level hardware.

And yeah, DX:IW runs poorly on nearly everything, and it really wouldn't like running on a 9200SE. FWIW, you're not missing much.

Its UT like because they use the same engine... Deus ex was based on the original unreal engine hence the reason why you think it looks like it ;) You can input a lot of the same commands from UT and it will work.

To claim the video card is the problem is the understatement of the century. That thing probably has 64 bit RAM and will likely struggle in GLQuake, much less DEIW.

And PCI? Ouch.

Yeah, I know, that's why I said "makes sense, I guess". That came in handy for when I wanted to tweak it to run well on the computer I was using (TNT2, very slow even at the time), since the options available in the main menu didn't help much.

It's 128MB video ram, 128 bit. But yeah it is PCI.

Do you guys think it could be the hard drive? I'm using one that's at least 6 years old and makes a ton of noise. It probably has a really slow speed.... I'm gonna look it up.

Edit: The speed is only 5400RPM.
