Since I can't figure out why my PC locks up with my new GPU (BFG 6800 GT OC), I will try replacing the power supply. My budget on a new PSU will be around 100 dollars, can you guys help me please?.

The system I need this PSU to handle is:
MSI Neo2 Platinum
AMD 64 3500 90nm Winchester
BFG Geforce 6800 GT
1 Gig RAM 2325 timings
NEC DVD+RW 3500a
1 Seagate Barracuda 200 Gig 7200 RPM SATA
2 120mm fans
1 slot fan
1 floppy

Any advice?

I been looking since early this morning, but I need something good, just so I can be sure my PSU is not the problem.

Thank you.

P.S. My current PSU is an Aspire 520W 34a 12v. The rails are showing to be good, well within the 5% range, but I am not sure if that means anything if the PSU is causing my random lock ups.

Anything with 2 12v rails by chance? I don't know.

I been looking at the Fortrons, but only 18a on 12v and 1 12v rail, just makes me unsure.

But correct me if I am wrong, please. Thank you.

Did you check out the thread I linked in your other post?

Apparantly these gfx cards come with different core clock speeds for 2D and 3D. As the card shifts from to the other the different core speeds increase power draw causing probs similar to what you mention. Many peeps report synching the 2D and 3D core speeds resolved their probs.

I have no idea how to do this, it would void my warrenty? and if I got a kick ass PSU would I need to "synch" still?.

If I was you, I'd PM AssyrianKing about this. He seems to have figured it out and could walk you through it. Appears you are merely editing or upgrading the card's BIOS. Seems to me if the values were within spec it s/n void the warranty, but that's just my guess as I haven't read the warranty.

Good Luck with it. Just hope you don't go buying uneccessary stuff that won't actually fix your prob.
