ok ive decided ill buy online. My frend is returning on the 29th of August from the US and well bring it for me. So online, I want the best card within that range, Nvidia or ATI....

thanx Hatim

Oh n my motherboard supports only AGP 4X plz gimme a link from where i can bye 🙂

Here are my Stats

P4 1.8
512 MB ram
40 Gigs HD

And i need the card only for games and should last me through HL2 and doom3 😀

in that range.. i think u can find a ati radeon 9600 pro.

but if u can add like 10-20 dollars, there are 2 good in mind:
ti4600 or 9500 pro, 9500 pro cost slightly more.

go with ti4600 if u want to play games with good fps and u dont mind jagged edge (no aa)

go with 9500 pro if u want good fps at the same time with good image quality.

9600 pro here.
ti4600 here.
9500 pro here

be sure to have good power supply!

where can i nothice the jagged edge i mean what difference does that make???
All I do on my PC is play games and use the internet...Then the Ti is the best? Also how long do u think tll last?

Let say you have a 9500 pro and ti4600. If you were able to try them both out and enable AA/FSAA. You notice that the 9500 pro would run life-like (no jagged edges) with high fps like everything connects to its place. and if you were to run ti4600 with the same settings, the fps would dramatically drop and itll be like... slow.. i cant really explain this but what i am trying to say is if you want high fps without changing any settings (using defaults) then go ti4600. If you dont mind changing settings, just get a ti4600. if you like to change settings to improve image quality, etc, get radeon 9500pro.

any card should last a real long time depending on how cool your case is. the stock fans are usually fine unless you plan to overclock. as for games, with those cards, they will be playable in hl2 and doom3. maybe not as satisfying, but playable.

I jus like to install the game and play.....changing settings is a waste of time....and besides radeons are having probs playing Sc$ scrlling and all not that i mind too much but...

O and my power supply is Cobra p4 power supply

Ac input 115V/230V 6A/3A 50/60HZ

my motherboard is an intel d845gebv2/d845pesv

will the tis work fine?

about 10%.

Since the Ti4200 is highly overclockable, you should be sumwhere in the Ti4400 speed range and if not almost touching Ti4600 speeds.
The Ti4200 is the best AGP 4x card out there. Best price too.

i would like to know how u overclock.....

Well I think then it will be the 4200 for me unless sum1 can get me a better deal.......

I was looking for a radeon 9800pro prices.... It was 37.5-440$ the 37 cant be real cannit? 🙂

I might suggest you consider this Geforce 4 Ti4200, and use a coupon code from f*twallet or t*chbargains.com to save an additional 10%. Then you would have enough left over to upgrade your power supply to something like this Enlight 360 Watt unit for $39 shipped.
Just a thought. I picked up one of the Asus Ti4200's from compgeeks a few months ago and it came with Hynix 3.6 memory and works great. Although it is a "new factory pull", it does have a 1 year warranty. I already ordered another one and am hoping it will arrive by next friday.

will my current power damage the video card....

If i do need an upgrade ill get it from Karachi only

thanx for the link
It wont work with mine anyways cuz it requires an 8X AGP and my motherboard is only good for 4X

Yes. Check out the benchmarks

here , and here.

Even though the Ti4200 is an older card, it is still a very good DirectX 8 performer. Many of the newer cards are cut down versions of previous cards, i.e. the FX5200, the Radeon 9000/9200, the Radeon 9600. All of these "newer" cards are somewhat stripped down versions of the previous models that actually don't perform as well as the cards they are intended to replace. They are, however cheaper to manufacture for the factories, so they can be sold for the same price, with greater profit for the company. Most people would highly recommend the Ti4200 over the FX5200, the Radeon 8500 over the 9000/9200 or the RAdeon 9500 over the 9600. That is why the prices of these "older" cards have held up so well.

All 8X AGP video cards are backwards compatible with 4X AGP slots, so it should work fine. I have my first one in a MSI KT3 Ultra2 motherboard which only supports 4X AGP. It works great.

plz help me find sumthing coz im not used to buying online.

The link I gave you before is the best deal I am aware of. If you want to check out some other cards from a first rate vendor, look
here for newegg's current list. They are probably the number one on line vendor with unmatched customer service and prompt shipping. If you want to spend more for a retail box card, I can personally recommend the MSI card, but be careful. The first one I got from them arrived with a broken mounting pin on the heatsink/fan. I had to RMA it, since they couldn't just send me a replacement pin for me to fix it myself. No problem getting the RMA, but I got stuck for return shipping and the time it took to finally get the replacement card. In your situation, I think you need to make sure you get a working card, since RMA'ing from Karachi may not be feasible.

Are u sure Cuz i was supposed to get a MX440 but it dint support 4X and dint work or thats atleast what the comp guy said.

I have found 1 for about 100 dollars also.

Im getting a good deal on a 9200 128 DDR. will the 4200 outperform the 9200?

Also does 4200 have directX9 support, and will it work well on future games? Otherwise ill jus get a 4600.

Looks like i wont be making another upgrade for abt 1.5 years. So i want a gud card.

thanx hatim
