36k this week. Scorch, I've been running in summer clothing here in Toronto this weekend too. It's been great!

Today is supposed to be almost 70 degrees and I'm too sore to go out and enjoy it. Figures... lol

I'll have my race report up some time today. I'm almost done with it and it had to be done "right" as I'm putting it up at Runner's World forums also. 🙂

I ran in the Haney 2 Harrison 100km road relay on Saturday. I was on “Oconnor’s Washed up All Stars” (comprised of current and former Richmond Kajaks track runners), and the team finished second overall in a time of 5:43.48.

I was 3rd on my leg of the race (6th leg), running the 13.08 km stage in 46:26, despite the cold, persistent heavy rain.

Results:

(Stage 6) http://www.raceheadquarters.com/results/2009/run/H2H2009Stage6.html

Including the warmup (and minimal cooldown), 10 miles total.

Nice IB! That's what, 5:45 pace or so per mile? Pretty darn quick! And a total pace of 5:30 for the whole relay? That's a sick team you have there!

I did 8 miles today. Felt good to go "long" again and it was a wonderful warm night. Great run! 12,029

Geez, I set my 10k pb this weekend at 51 minutes. So if I wanted to catch up to you, all I would have to do is shave off 5 minutes while adding 30% distance 😛

I think I'll just stay content with whatever I can do. I can barely comprehend the lung capacity it must take to run that fast.

Haha, well congrats on your 10k PB - still very solid.

I actually wish I had a bit more lung capacity - my breaths were a bit short by the end of the stage and I developed a pretty nasty stitch which probably cost me some time. Blame the weather or just trying to adapt to a race distance much shorter than a marathon, but my abdominal is still a bit strained even today.

Yea, 5:43/mile. Most of our team ran very well, but one guy is just not in the shape he used to be in and he blew our 3 min+ lead on the 5th stage. Still we were 3rd last year, so it's an improvement. Next year we'll win it all!

Wow, you really are a fast mofo. I wish I could run far AND fast... Excellent job man.

6 miles here. I'm feeling the Boston itch too. I'm making myself take it easy until January though (ie- no more than 60mpw until then).

Well that's it. I'm going to go for a short run tomorrow. My legs feel lots better and I've decided to get back to my training routine. Finger Lakes Fifties, here I come.

We did a nice little jog around Corning today. My left knee hurt at first but my feet were fine. It felt great to get out and stretch my legs a bit. I'm guessing we did between 3.5 and 4 miles, but I'll round down to 3.

Another 6 miles today. I took today and tomorrow off from work to go see Metallica in Albany tonight, so I got to run during the day! It was beautiful and sunny out! I felt like I was going slow but I ended up averaging 6:47s; weird.

Good job on your race. I liked the pictures on the FB 🙂

Grand total of 4 treadmill miles this week. I need to start hitting it harder, but my back is killing me. Trying to get back into the swing of things with a fat gut is challenging.

+1 mile today. 🙁

Got to 1.02 miles and tripped on a rock, falling, and got pretty banged up. Both knees are cut and bruised, right thigh has a very deep bruise (like on the bone deep), right hip is bruised, both arms messed up, and right wrist is pretty bad (to the point where I might be goin to the docs in the AM depending on how it is). Grrr was a beautiful day, and was hoping to run 10k at least.
