My son and I decided to try a 22 miler on Sunday. We went shopping tonight and got some vaseline, band-aids, and Gu for the event. If we can do it we are considering signing up for the 50 mile variant of the Can Lake 50 rather than the 50k.

Good luck on your 22 Mega! Sounds like you're prepared! I did an easy 10 today after helping my girlfriend's roommate move out. (2-bedroom apartment all to herself; oh yeah 😀) 7323

Thanks Scorch. We're working on it and going about it as scientifically as possible. I found some training tips on the race's site and we're gonna see if they work for us. I have to say we are pretty psyched.

How much stuff did you have to move? I absolutely HATE moving, but it sounds like you had good motivation.

That and my taint was "on fire" after the 20 miler 2 weeks ago. I've gotta grease up the nethers... 😱

my turn to do 800s today. Did 6 in 2:45, 2:47, 2:48, 2:49, 2:46, 2:47. 3 up 2 down with 400m recovery jogs for 9.5 total. Will probably run 3-4 later and will round down right now to 9 for 7332

Holy fvck...those are fast! Good job Scorch!

I tried for 22 and only succeeded in doing 21. My feet hurt and I ran out of sweat. Not great but it was encouraging. By Oct. a 50k will be no problem especially with proper hydration.

Well done, Mega!!! 21 miles is still nothing to sneeze at!! Heck, you even beat me by 0.4 miles today! 😀 Rounding down to 20 even for 7429

Thanks Scorch. I feel better today, but I was wiped yesterday. I was on the verge of dehydrating so I had all the related yucks from that. Plus I was so tired, I slept on and off all day afterwards.

My legs don't feel too bad today, just stiff and a bit sore. I'll stretch 'em out good tonight and go for an easy jog tomorrow after work.

That's good to hear, Mega! Means your training is coming along quite nicely! I did an easy 9 today to shake out the legs; felt a lot better than the 20, that's for sure! 7419
