Hi.
I still have Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor QX9650. Its been very good and loyal to me. off course running very strong.
Running on P45 Chip set with 4 GB. Few years ago I have upgraded the storage to Intel 320 128 GB SSD.
For GPU it was upgraded 7970 while back. Screen Korean 27 at 2560x 1440.
OS is Win7 Pro, and it is doing good for the user.
I have gave this to 8 year old daughter couple of years ago, and she is happy with it.
I am wondering shall keep on using until it just die off; which may not happen; cause I didn't do O.C. it was run at stock speed; and run 100 stable.
If I were to sell the MB,CPU and Memory and may be SSD, how much I need to cough up to do a upgrade to a latest hardware.
Usage will be WEB browsing /WEB games RodBlox , Utube and may be Diablo 3.
What you all advise ?

She's happy and can continue to grow with it a few yrs.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it..

When considering upgrading anything it's important to state a goal you want to achieve with it. I think it is reusable as office machine, and when you don't have any performance target in mind that means you don't need any upgrade/replacement.

Forum rules don't allow price checks, so we can't comment on what you could sell your old system for. If you wanted to build a new system, it would be an ideal situation for the new hyperthreaded Pentium and a low end new generation gpu like a RX 460 or gtx 1050. Those would be less than 200.00 for both, so maybe 800.00 for a total system. But as others have said, if what you have is doing the job, I would just stick with it.

Like a I said mostly Web browser games.
Some time you tube and and may be Diablo 3. That is the usage she have.
If I am going to save 10 to 12 follow. Then it is not worth upgrading

GPU wise 7970 I don't see reason to upgrade.
If I sell CPU I will sell the combo Mem MB and CPU hee eee.
I was thinking may Razen i3 or Intel Kary i3 with 8 Gig.
But sounds like a big expense, and I am may not able to justifying the upgrade.
