10 purchases not to put on credit

Somehow I doubt that the credit card companies care if you shop at walmart or the dollar store. Maybe extreme changes in shopping patterns could cause some sort of a flag in their system but this list screams FUD.

I've actually heard the part about Amex lowering limits of people who frequent WalMart. Not sure it's true, but this isn't the first time I've heard that.

when i went to san diego for vacation for a week, my cc company called my house and let me know my purchasing habits had changed, and to call them about the possible fraud. i cracked up when i got home and heard that, but its more sad and pathetic than funny to me now. the emergency number i gave them for this stuff is my cell phone, yet they call my house.

edit: Oh, I understood the story was referring to searches that employers performed concerning potential employees. Must have come in late to the story. THAT should definitely be illegal. as for the credit agencies, well, that's just fucked up, I guess.

That's when my BS meter went up. I spend probably 600 bucks a month on booze and have never had a problem seeing as I have maybe 100K+ in credit cards and much more in lines of credit.

Not sure about the list but they do keep record of where you shop.

My wife barley buys anything at a hardware/tools/etc... type store. So she went to sears and we bought a tiller. Tried to put it on her card and it was denied. Mind you she spends way more money at other stores so the amount was not an issue. Just they have her down for NOT buying things like tools and such. So she had to call in before they would let her use her card.

I'll use my credit card for whatever I want, I don't give a fuck. If they lower my credit too much, I'll just switch to another and let them call and whine about how I don't use them anymore. It's not like I'll have any problems getting another card if it comes to it, I got spectacular credit rating.
