And? If you can figure out a way to successfully use ten fingers on a 3.7 inch screen (Or a 4 inch screen, or a 4.3 inch screen) let me know. Otherwise, it seems kind of pointless.

tablet, piano.

A tablet I can understand. However, 10 point multitouch is nothing new or nice. It's absolutely necessary for anything tablet sized to be taken seriously. iPad has had 11 point multitouch since launch. Piano on a tablet, yes. Piano on a phone, good luck using more than 3 or 4 fingers.

My Droid 1 can only recognize two at this time, but that doesn't mean that some enterprising developer will come up with a cool innovative app that benefits from 3 or 4 point detection. The capability is there, now its up for software to catch up.

That's kind of disappointing. My iPhone 3GS can recognize five points. I didn't realize android was so far behind with that.

It's not an Android specific issue. The Galaxy S phones all have 5 point touch for instance.

Yep, screen tech, not Android itself. I'm not sure why'd I'd need more than two fingers, at the moment, I just use two for typing in landscape. Its interesting, but there needs to be the software to take advantage of it. :p

There are some multiplayer games that require more than two fingers. Tap Tap revenge you can play with a friend on the same phone.
