I rather suspect he told Nunes that he didn't think it would fly. I mean, he's a smart guy. He knows the truth. We don't know about the Party undercurrents, either. Gowdy has been stepping out of line even more since then. The fact that he'd even question the instrumentality of the Florida shooting, the sacred AR15, means he won't get any NRA money.
