So what do your care about? Listen to their stories, what could it hurt? YOU might need one of THEM to listen to you some day........oh, and guess what, YOU will not be YOUNG for the rest of YOUR life.....so?

Wait 20 years. One day, while telling a life story, look around. You'll find someone rolling their eyes at YOU. Doesn't matter how much you try not to, you'll be there, some day.

Or....you could learn to be respectful to your elders (a long forgotten talent for your generation). Smile, nod your head, and hope someone will be kind enough to act the same way to you, 20 years from now.

I'd be more embarrassed about incurring a 40k debt only to end up working at the same place as someone who went to community college who has no debt.

High end college/universities are overrated. Get your diploma, get a job. Unless there's a place you want to work that has very specific requirements I see no point in doing anything more.

As for the OP, consider those life stories as possible lessons you may encounter later in life, they could maybe even be helpful in some cases.

To be fair, Ivy Leaguers tend to automatically get decent jobs regardless of how stupid, lame or incompetent they are.

Community College? I'd be embarrassed to even list that on a resume to be honest with you. Almost as embarrassing as admitting to attending DeVry.

Yet you can transfer to a university, get the same bachelor of science degree as people that attended said university for 4-years and and start you career with less debt.

@OP, listen to older people tell their stories and you can avoid their fuck ups.

Yell from wherever you're sitting for them to shut up so your lecturer can finish giving the lesson. The polite approach doesn't work on people who deem it necessary to waste everyone's time with crap like this.
