Ugh stupid. Trying to buy a video card but since they have free games attached to it I can't use it. I dont want the games.

right now I think if you can get a high end radeon that's the route. You could play it and if it's not fast enough you could resale for what you paid maybe even more if you get the right discount+rebate+10% off.

nwo you see any good video card deals?

Unfortunately all the good Radeons are sold out.

The 7 series is terribly overpriced right now so I would definitely not recommend any of them.

I would just wait for the 280x or 290 to come back in stock, they are the only worthwhile radeon deals at the moment.

Yep, I was lucky enough to get all 3 of my 7870s for $150 or less as well as two Asus 7790s for just $70 after MIR! Not terribly excited about the refurb Powercolor 7970 I got for $260, I would much rather have a 280x for $300 with full warranty, but we will see how it goes.

Would two 7870 Ghz in X-Fire beat the 280x?

In theory, it matches a 290, but I just tried that setup in bf4 and it wasn't nearly as smooth as my gtx780 at 1440p. At 1080p the fps was just as good, but again it didn't feel as good. I think the crossfire drivers for bf4 need work. It was very smooth in bf3.

Makes me feel better about a CPU I ordered yesterday since it includes a FarCry 3 BD coupon. At least I'm not kicking myself today for missing this.

Wow... this 10% off doesn't really make up for the +20-50% increase in the prices of Radeons... 280x now $360, 7950 $400+, 7970 $499.... LTC diff is on the rise and LTC price is tanking...

Thanks, would have been nice 2 days ago when I bought a bunch of things, but I did just use it to buy some memory that I needed for a build for my son.
