I've seen that quite a bit lately on several items. I guess they set a limit, then pull the item until sale is over.

Microcenter has iPads for $50 off - turns out to be the same price as a refurb from Apple. Just boought one from there 2 days ago. Not a "hot" deal, but if you want an iPad, might as well get $50 off.

I think the advantage here is for people who don't pay sales tax from Newegg. Combine 10% off, plus a cash back referral site, and CC rewards and you might dip under $430 shipped for a 16gb ipad 2.
