I don't know anyone who has 100,000 miles on their odometer

maybe not in a small country like the UK. But here in America, there are many with >100K miles. My GTI has 160K miles. I know few with hondas that have >250K miles

Surpised to see the Chevy 2500 on there....

It's Yahoo, if there's anything I've learned about Yahoo it is to distrust their cars list. Some of the stuff they've put out is so out of whack that I don't take them seriously.

The UK is not a country.

Technically, the UK absolutely is a country. It is a country made up of the four countries of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Just because something is made up of countries doesn't mean that it cannot be a country itself. The term "country" encompasses both sovereign states (the UK) and non-sovereign political divisions (e.g. England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland).

the UK is clearly a superior country to the US. I think that's what he was trying to say. Heh.

That is one thing I've liked about Ford's response. I'd rather have a car from a company that quietly solves the problems rather than one that tries to ignore it until there is a huge public outcry.

if by problems you mean the federal investigation found in every case the user was at fault, then either way doesn't bother me

The UK is not a country.

Sovereign states are usually referred to as countries.

edit: inject UK education fail joke.

Did you know that global warming is threatening the Canadian way of life? Our igloos are melting!

So, Uber Country?

Not what I was getting at.

Uhohs! I need to look into this in more detail, and I will later.

Might want to take geography in school again:

Countries of the World

The country of interest to you would be the one listed after United Arab Emirates.

I love you.

I'm up to 18k miles already on my 2011 Mazda3... that I bought new with 5 miles on the odometer back in May.

A 85-mile daily round-trip work commute will do that.

Wow that's a trek. I live 1.2 miles from the furthest thing I need to go to every week.

Edit: Just checked, my and my partner live 46 miles apart and that's an LDR for us. Also if I were to drive 85 miles it could get to the bottom of the country!

Yeah I get that, I love driving too, but 85 miles is a long way for me, I live 46 miles from my fiancee and that's an LDR for us...

The difference is in the purpose for driving that far. I used to live 1 mile from work yet I would drive about 45-50 miles on weekends for my fun and excitement. That was far less enjoyable than driving 40 miles to/from work.

I'll take driving further for work over driving further for recreation any day.

Really? Wow. OK, I'd hate it, in the UK when people commute over any kind of distance we just take the train, it's a lot cheaper. I've heard the train networks in America aren't really compatible given the distances.

Well, there is no passenger train that goes anywhere near where I work... or where I used to live.

I'll also say that when I lived closer to work it was much harder to separate work time from non-work time. It seemed like I was always working. That's not a recipe for good mental health, long term.
