These are not "the rich" that we need to hate. While they are richer than "the rich", they are champions of the working class. Do you realize how many people it takes to maintain those mega-mansions?

We must only hate "the rich" that actually produce things of practical value... they are the ones who are destroying America.

Fail economics much?
These people got their wealth by personally creating a product that a broad segment of the population was willing to buy. This is not the same as raking in massive profits off the backs of workers merely because you have a government-backed piece of paper saying you own them.

Money to entertainers is freely given by economic producers. Corporate profits are taken from economic producers.

Attempt at cleverness: Fail.
Take a hint: You need actual understanding of the underlying mechanics of the system in question before you can adequately perform a transform like you tried.
If you don't grasp the specifics, don't try and play cutesy with the general.

the vast majority of them are flunkTards. If it wasn't for the closed nepotistic industry they work in they would be working for peanuts in gas stations and car washes. Song/Dance read the script. Otherwise give em the cane.

ok we get it conservatives hate the entertainment industry. Now stop watching tv and movies, stop playing video games and cancel your tv subscriptions (no more stargate: atlantis). What % of people in America hate the entertainment industry this much? .1%?

And know that carpenters and electricians and all kinds of people work in the entertainment industry. And know that they are Americans and a lot of them probably are republican (I've seen them, I'm pretty sure they are republicans). But dont let that stand in your way of hating barbra streisand. Lord no. Because we all know how much you will hurt her by not watching Thor.

Seems to me their number one gripe is people who gripe.
Number 2 is people who think for themselves and question the government.

Their actions and comments are over dramatic (OMG - they really ARE actors!), so by default, you should take everything they say with a grain of salt.

None the less, people do indeed "listen" to them.

So, why aren't people listening to conservatives? Maybe if they started looking at reality and actually practiced what they preached, we would care to.

The article's selective interpretation of The West Wing makes me laugh. The political slant of the show was more to the left in the first 3-4 seasons, but was decidedly centrist during the last 3-4 seasons. In any event, it was an excellent show that only people who take themselves and their personal politics too seriously wouldn't like and appreciate.

Their number one grip is that these people have a spotlight and Hollywood isn't dedicated to promoting conservative politics. Duh! Hollywood makes its money exercising free speech! You can bet Joe Lieberman isn't popular there.

Jane Fonda is 73 years old for crying out loud and all of them are pushing 50 or older. I guess beating up hippies is still popular with some folks no matter how old they get.

I guess this gives Dumbfvckistani's something to RAGE about while Republicans outsource their jobs and gut their social security.

Bahahahaha you have owned yourself so hard I can't stop laughing about it.

So these actors are personally and wholly responsible for making the movies they rake huge profits on? The writers, producers, investors, artists, costume designers, makeup artists, special effects guys, model makers, set designers, etc etc et al, had nothing to do with the process? It sure sounds like the actors are raking in massive profits at the expense of the working class to me!

And all of those people are payed VERY well for what they do.

There are very few actors that command top dollar and that because people want to see that personality in a certain situation. Its the current model for how blockbusters are made. So if a person can get to that level where it becomes Downy jr as "so and so" and lots of people want to see that then they can build an entire multimillion dollar feature around that persona. They make more money because their persona is the draw. If a actor doesnt have that draw anymore they wont be used.

There are very few CEO's that command top dollar and that because stockholders want to see that leadership in a certain situation. Its the current model for how corporations are made. So if a person can get to that level where it becomes Bill Gates as "so and so" and lots of people want to see that then they can build an entire multibillion dollar company around that leadership. They make more money because their leadership is the draw. If a CEO doesnt have that draw anymore they wont be used.

FTFY.

Thank you for making my point for me so elegantly.

I have never been ashamed when I am given the monicker of liberal liberal liberal.

But I find this thread thesis quite odd, that 10 various obnoxious hollywood figures have ever been my inspirational role models. As I read the entire list of ten, those are just show Biz people I barely pay any attention to.

But the GOP thread thesis is that somehow its just those ten somehow inspire all of all democratic liberal traditions, and somehow if the gang of ten were eliminated, the entire democratic liberal aspiration would vanish to nothing.

All a conservative writer has to do is put put a book with a list similar to this and it sells a lot of copies.

That GOP monolith operating on 1 out of 8 cylinders is astonishing.

Julia Roberts, Alicia Silverstone, Angelina Jolie. I don't see any of them on there. Not a good list.

You could probably market a book of random quotes from the Tea Party to both conservatives and liberals. In more liberal states you can call it comedy and in more conservative ones patriotic.

At least, they're actors that are giving out their political view whether it's sane or insane. Now, let's look at Sarah Palin.
