That's what I got from it. The military (with their wacky inventors) have been working on a pill that release whatever chemicals or hormones or whatever that sleep releases so that soldiers can go weeks without sleep, so I don't know that sleep in and of itself isn't absolutely necessary.

but your muscles rest while you're sleeping. i dont see how remaining active would allow the muscles to rest properly
